Karessa Symons-Hall, Managing Director

Karessa Symons-Hall has an extensive background in hospitality, venue and event management. 

As a former long-standing regional tourism operator and restaurateur Karessa has built her business knowledge in some of Australia’s most demanding and challenging operating environments. Her deep understanding of business risk, especially in customer focused settings, brings a unique set of skills to the Riskworks business. 

Karessa has forged a strong reputation as a doer which underpins Riskworks business ethos of ‘thinking about risk differently’ to deliver exceptional results on-time and on-budget. 


Brett McCall, Senior Consultant

Following a successful career in television news media Brett transitioned to security in 1991.  As a member of the security profession for over 3 decades he has delivered a myriad of public safety and security solutions from formal risk assessments, manpower, industry-based training and state-of-the-art security technologies.

Brett has extensive experience in delivering professional services across a broad range of industry sectors which include: major sporting and cultural events, local and state governments, critical and important infrastructure, national corporate organisations, critical and important infrastructure transport and logistics, manufacturing, retail, universities & educational centres and health & aged-care facilities.

Setting the highest benchmarks of professionalism, ethical conduct and performance outcomes and influencing change through dynamic leadership and best practice operations. Brett’s commitment, passion, education and active participation in industry have been keys to his success.

As a regular author and contributor to industry journals, magazines, online forums Brett’s key driver has been to help consumers make better choices regarding their safety and security outcomes whilst also influencing industry policy, regulation, standards and performance.


Alison Schofield, Consultant

Alison has over 20 years’ practical experience in Workplace Health & Safety Management with university qualifications from the University of NSW.

With hands on safety experience ranging from mining and manufacturing, Local Government, high end medical/electronics and major corporate events including public safety in the horse racing industry, Alison brings a professional and totally practical approach to workplace safety when developing strategies and systems which enable people to work safer and more efficiently. Alison is a firm believer that efficient and practical safety systems of work enable organisations to work not only safer but more efficiently and profitably.

Alison specialises in developing WHS management systems using continuous improvement frameworks, auditing WHS management systems against recognized audit tools such as AS/NZS4801 and striving for industry best practice.

Alison brings extensive experience in developing and implementing WHS training for both face-to-face and online delivery as well as working with several off-shelf applications and developing her own site/business specific modules. 

This vast experience has allowed Alison to assist in the development of specific task solutions to our on-line APP, Procedures OnLine (POL), ensuring that the APP covers the multi facets of safety, is simple to understand and complete yet compliant with the various Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems Regulations (AS 4801).

As a Riskworks Consultant, Alison is passionate about creating trusted advisor relationships with clients and delivering real workable solutions that make a difference to their business. This is achieved through developing a strong understanding and appreciation of her clients’ operational needs and challenges.


Adam Carter, Consultant

Having gained a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience over 19 years in various roles throughout the industry, Adam is regularly engaged by some of the most recognised companies in Australia and throughout the world. Adam is a highly regarded internationally trained and qualified personal protection operative, providing expert security detail to high profile clients, overseeing & handling industry specific equipment and implementing security plans and practices. He has managed the personal safety needs of a myriad of clients throughout Australasia.

On top of this experience and engagements Adam has been sourced for numerous Risk Management, and the Safety and Communications roles at leading Australian events. Adam has a track record for fixing problematic systems and implementing a range of safety and security improvement initiatives, his willingness to approach all challenges and deliver results make him an exceptional asset to the Riskworks team.


Steve Waters, Emergency Diagram Consultant

Steve has been working in the Risk Management field for the past 18 years. His main role has been
developing Evacuation Diagrams and he has seen the evolution of these diagrams brought about by
the upgrading of Australian Standards. Having a long and ongoing career with Fire and Rescue has
enabled Steve to gain a great insight into employee behaviour in a fire/emergency situation. This
knowledge is then transferred to final product.

Steve is highly regarded in his field with a work ethic that is second to none. He has been engaged by
many Risk Management companies to develop site appropriate diagrams covering dangerous goods,
crowd control measures at large events and of course, evacuation. He enjoys his involvement with
the Riskworks Team and is a valued member of the team.


Tracey Dailly, Admin and Accounts Manager

Tracey has over 30 years’ experience in administration and accounts working across a wide range of industry sectors including Security Services, Business Services, Hospitality, Manufacturing and Construction.    

Tracey brings extensive knowledge in financial management utilising various financial management tools and a vast understanding of administration responsibilities.  She is a capable Office Manager and Financial Controller supporting many of our key business functions, advising the management team and managing director on a regular basis of any issues, supporting our consultants when needed and ensuring Riskworks runs smoothly at the back end.

Tracey is a highly regarded member of the Riskworks Team underpinned by her formal qualifications.
