POL is an iOS app available in the App Store and also a web app built with PHP. Hosted on Riskworks servers via Intaserve http://www.intaserve.com/ which has auDA Information Security Standards (ISS) certification. Files are cached on individual’s device with passcode locking for extra security

Managing Director – Karessa Symons-Hall has an extensive background in hospitality, venue and event management. 

As a former long standing regional tourism operator and restaurateur Karessa has built her business knowledge in some of Australia’s most demanding and challenging operating environments. Her deep understanding of business risk, especially in customer focused settings, brings a unique set of skills to the Riskworks business.

Rick Parkes has most recently been contracted to SACL taking on the role of Fire Safety Manager on behalf of Riskworks.

Rick offers 25 years of experience with Fire and Rescue NSW culminating in the position as Manager Professional Development.

Rick was a Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent with up to 300 staff under his command at any given time. His last role as Command Leadership and Management Manager was critical in the training and development of all fire fighters, officers, senior officers and executive officers.

He has had high levels of involvement in specialist projects.

Rick has worked with a range of Government facilities including schools, hospitals and corrective services departments.

Rick is uniquely experienced as he has the knowledge of Fire Safety at the terminals in the Fire Safety Managers role. Additionally he has enormous depth of understanding of fire safety systems strategies, legislation and standards such as the BCA and Australian Standards and how to apply them in the real world.

Following a successful career in television news media Brett transitioned to security in 1991.  As a member of the security profession for over 3 decades he has delivered a myriad of public safety and security solutions from formal risk assessments, manpower, industry based training and state-of-the-art security technologies.

In addition to extensive operational knowledge as a long term business owner Bretts responsibilities also included managing finance, budgets, business compliance, sales & marketing, providing leadership, enhancing technical systems, HS&E, recruitment, training and managing over 6000 employees across almost every Australian state/territory.

Brett has extensive experience in delivering professional services across a broad range of industry sectors which include: major sporting and cultural events, local and state governments, critical and important infrastructure, national corporate organisations, critical and important infrastructure transport and logistics, manufacturing, retail, universities & educational centres and health & aged-care facilities.

Setting the highest benchmarks of professionalism, ethical conduct and performance outcomes and influencing change through dynamic leadership and best practice operations. Bretts commitment, passion, education and active participation in industry have been keys to his success.

As a regular author and contributor to industry journals, magazines, online forums Brett’s key driver has been to help consumers make better choices regarding their safety and security outcomes whilst also influencing industry policy, regulation, standards and performance.
