Event Safety and Emergency Planning

A great event is one where nobody remembers the safety plan, because nothing went wrong. Riskworks plans safety for festivals, concerts, sporting events and community events across Australia, from the first site concept to the last patron leaving.

What we deliver

  • Event risk assessments covering crowd, weather, alcohol, temporary structures, traffic and security
  • Event safety and emergency management plans for council and agency approval
  • Crowd management and egress planning
  • Event Operations Centre (EOC) and Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) set-up and staffing
  • Chief wardens, safety officers and marshals for the event itself
  • Pre-event briefings, desktop exercises and post-event debriefs

Proven at scale

For nine years we supported safety and risk planning for Bluesfest Byron Bay, one of Australia's best-known music festivals. We've also worked with stadiums, international sporting events and major community events.

Frequently asked questions

When should we bring you in? As early as possible. Safety decisions made at the site-design stage are cheaper and more effective than fixes made the week before.

Can you staff the event? Yes. We provide EOC and ECC coordinators, chief wardens and safety officers.

Do you work with our council and emergency services? Yes. We prepare documentation for approvals and liaise with agencies as part of the planning process.
