Bluesfest 2022 is going ahead full steam and with solid advice that this latest hiccup to the events industry is set to settle down in February we are in SERIOUS planning mode

Riskworks Group is an Emergency Risk and Safety Consultancy business based in Sydney. We work with Government and private sectors in both the built environment and green spaces.

One of the coolest major events we enjoy working on is Bluesfest. Under our Safety and Risk role, we have the opportunity to offer volunteer positions at this year’s rescheduled event. The event takes place over the Easter Long weekend just north of Byron Bay.

If you are a student, you might be able to utilize this opportunity to put towards your intern hours, if appropriate.

To be an appropriate fit for the role you should:

  • Be comfortable with customer-facing

  • Be able to give clear direction in English

  • Have the ability to remain hospitable and calm when challenged by patrons

  • Enjoy working outdoors

  • Be physically fit

  • Be able to work as a team, or independently if required

  • Commit to one 7.5 hour shift per day, alternating between AM or PM shift (Festival runs 10am - Midnight)

  • Adhere to the Conditions of Entry and Terms & Conditions of Engagement with us at Bluesfest

  • Have a great personality.

  • PAY a refundable “Commitment Deposit” of $150.00 upon registration. This will be refunded post-event after completion of the volunteer role.

As a Covid Marshal, your role and responsibility's are to:

  • Promote Covid Safety

  • Ensure Covid Guidelines of Bluesfest are adhered to by patrons

  • Act as ushers

  • Assist with patron flows during ingress and egress.

10:00 am - 1:00 pm for camping check-in

  • 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm site familiarisation (famil), accreditation, uniform, and rosters


Bluesfest Event is over 5 days

  • Thursday 14 April - Monday 18 April Inclusive

NOTE: Shifts will alternate between a day shift and night shift throughout the 5 days of the event so everyone volunteering will have the opportunity to see bands throughout their role and downtime.
More detail will be made available via the registration link, followed by a training/information session and an onboarding familiarisation onsite.
